1 works in Huong Hoa District, clearing in the communes
of Thuan, Tan Long, Tan Thanh, Tan Hop, Tan Lien and Keh
Sahn, Lao Bao Townships.
EOD Team 2 works in Dakrong District, focusing their clearance in the Ba Long

Unexploded Ordnance Clearance

PeaceTrees
Vietnam sponsors the clearance of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO)
in Quang Tri Province as
a means of realizing the mission to reverse the legacy of war.
The people of Vietnam have been clearing contaminated land for over 35 years.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal
Team to be Established in Quang Binh Province
|
In November of 2010, PeaceTrees Vietnam
formed a partnership with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund
(VVMF) to establish and fund an explosive ordnance disposal
team in Quang Binh Province.
The partnership
between VVMF and PeaceTrees will take place over the next
year, with VVMF pledging more than $280,000 to fund EOD
teams that will be assembled and supervised by PeaceTrees.
VVMF is using funding provided by Congress for this project.

During the past
six
years, the
U.S. Department of State has provided
major support for our de-mining work, awarding generous grants
totaling more than a million USD to mobilize the Quang Tri humanitarian
demining team and then add an additional EOD Mobile Response Team.
