Viana Dang

Viana is a second-generation Vietnamese American passionate about human rights, international policy, and global justice. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Law, Societies, and Justice and Communication from the University of Washington, where she explored the intersections of law, social equity, and international development.
Through study abroad experiences in Vietnam and Jamaica, Viana gained firsthand insight into the social, cultural, and historical factors shaping communities worldwide. These experiences deepened her commitment to advancing international human rights and addressing systemic inequities through thoughtful, community-centered approaches.
Rooted in her Vietnamese heritage and shaped by her family’s journey as immigrants who fled the Vietnam War, Viana deeply values resilience, cultural connection, and social responsibility. Her experiences growing up with this history, combined with her firsthand understanding of Vietnamese culture, inspire her commitment to building bridges between communities. Joining PeaceTrees allows her to honor this heritage while actively contributing to peace, reconciliation, and collaborative projects that strengthen ties between Vietnam and the United States.
