Providing safety and promoting early learning in the areas of greatest need
PeaceTrees Vietnam builds kindergartens and libraries throughout Quảng Trị Province. We work with local government organizations to identify those communities in the province with the greatest need. We then partner with US citizens, families, veterans, and service groups who want to fund a project in Vietnam that will benefit the community for many generations.
PeaceTrees’ kindergartens and libraries are built in some of the poorest and most remote mountainous regions of Quảng Trị. The communities are made up of Vân Kiều and Pa Ko ethnic minorities whose primary language is not Vietnamese. The children benefit greatly from the opportunity to learn Vietnamese in kindergarten before they start first grade. Moreover, children who attend our kindergartens learn early on the dangers of landmines and other weapons and are less likely to be innocent victims of explosives.
