Jennifer Carleton
Jennifer was born into a Gold Star family. Her maternal uncle, Frederick Nickerson Curtis, was killed in action in Pleiku, Vietnam in May 1969. She discovered PeaceTrees when researching an opportunity for her and her mom to travel to Vietnam to write a new chapter in her family's history with the country. In March 2023 they participated in a Citizen Diplomacy Trip, which Jennifer calls "the trip of a lifetime." She counts her fellow travel mates as her Seattle friends and was honored and humbled to be invited to join the board in November 2023. Jennifer wholeheartedly believes in PeaceTrees' mission to heal the wounds of war and is dedicated to continuing this work through the next generations impacted by the U.S.-Vietnam War.
Jennifer is a life-long educator who helps students apply to college. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Bates College. Born and raised on Cape Cod, Jennifer lives by the bay in San Francisco, CA.
