Are you already planning a trip to central Vietnam? Here's what you need to know about visiting PeaceTrees as an independent traveler:
PeaceTrees warmly welcomes visitors to our office in Đông Hà, Vietnam. Seeing our work first hand is one of the best ways to understand what we do and directly supports our mission of promoting peace and building bridges of friendship between American and Vietnamese citizens.
Because there are costs associated with helping to plan visits, and we want these opportunities to be sustainable over the long run, we invite visitors to contribute financially when visiting PeaceTrees Vietnam projects. There is no set fee associated with visiting the Danaan Parry Landmine Education Center or our project sites, but please consider the following when planning your visit:
- Passport Registration: PeaceTrees needs to register all visitors with local authorities and therefore needs to plan your visit in advance. You will need to submit a copy of your passport a minimum of 1 week in advance of your visit.
- Logistics: Depending on staff availability and your own preferences, PeaceTrees can usually help arrange for your hotel, ground transportation, and meals in Đông Hà. If PeaceTrees does assist with your logistics, we ask that you pay staff in Đông Hà directly for expenses incurred on your behalf.
- Donations: After visiting PeaceTrees projects, many visitors wish to make a tax deductible donation. We deeply appreciate these generous donations which support the continuation of our work. Our office in Vietnam can accept cash donations and our website can accept credit card donations. In the US, our office is able to accept cash, check, or credit card donations.
