About the Lao Bao Library

The Lao Bao Library, which is located in Tan Thanh commune in Huong Hoa District, was built in 2008. The library provides access to reference books, newspapers, and magazines and serves as a place where local residents can enhance their knowledge of topics including agriculture, economic development, child rearing, family planning, and nutrition.
A playground was added to the site in 2010. The library is unique as it is one of the few PeaceTrees Vietnam libraries that also includes a temporary women’s shelter. The shelter serves as a safe place for women and children to take refuge when needed.
