The PeaceTrees Heritage Circle focuses on engaging and supporting a younger generation of individuals with Vietnamese heritage, especially those ages 18-35 years old. The program serves as a platform for younger people who have been impacted by the U.S.-Vietnam war in various ways or who have a connection to Vietnam to participate in PeaceTrees' mission. It emphasizes dialogue and activities related to building mutual understanding, healing, and reconciliation as well as recognizing and honoring experiences among a younger age group.
Heritage Circle members currently meet monthly in-person in Seattle, WA and are encouraged to take on leadership roles in facilitating each session. Discussion topics and activities are selected and designed by members. Examples of subjects include, but are not limited to Vietnam, identity, war legacy, reconciliation, second generation perspectives, immigrant and refugee point of views, international student experiences, shared cultural affinity, intergenerational challenges, and so on.
