The PeaceTrees Common Read is a local citizen diplomacy opportunity in the U.S. to promote mutual understanding, healing, and reconciliation. Every year, PeaceTrees invites the community to read a selected book related to our organization's mission. This program is a platform to highlight many perspectives of the U.S.-Vietnam war and the many ways various people have been impacted. After reading the book, the community will come together for an in-person event in Seattle for reflection and discussion. The in-person event may feature the author of the book or other speakers who will share their points of views. A separate virtual discussion for those who are not able to join in-person will be available.
